Budget: what it is and how it works
The “Budget” is the amount of money you need to get you through the week. That is, if you receive or send money during the week then your balance will increase or decrease accordingly (your Budget however will stay the same).
At the beginning of each week, your balance will return to the level of the Budget that you set. Therefore, if by the end of the week your Satispay balance is lower than your Budget, then the difference will be automatically transferred from your bank account to your Satispay (arriving on Tuesday at the latest). On the other hand, if at the end of the week your balance is greater than your Budget, then the extra money will be transferred from your Satispay account to your bank account on Sunday at midnight.
Case 1. Balance is less than your Budget
Let’s say that you set your Budget to €100. During the week you spend €20 at a dinner with friends and €10 on drinks with your colleagues. By the end of the week your balance is €70 (€30 less than the Budget you set). In order to restore your balance to €100 for the upcoming week, on Sunday night €30 will be sent from your bank account to the app and your Satispay will be topped up.
Case 2. Balance is greater than your Budget
Now suppose that by the end of the week your Satispay balance is greater than your Budget (what a beautiful feeling)! Your friend finally paid you back €20 after a night out and your family member sent you €10 for lunch. Your budget at the end of the week is €130 (€30 more than your Budget). In order to restore your balance to €100 for the following week, on Sunday night the extra €30 will be transferred straight to your bank account.
